Rena's Baby Shower

Yesterday was super-busy! My friend and encourager, Rena had her baby shower. It was a lovely event and the mom-to-be was just radiant. Rena has encouraged me in my business pursuit and has been invaluable in her advice and suggestions! She is also quite the entrepreneur herself! She is not only an extremely talented actress and singer, she is an accomplished pianist after only having a few years of lessons, she is an artist who is a magician with a paintbrush, and to top it off, she has her Masters in Mathematics and is a college professor who has recently pioneered online math classes through the local college. If that wasn't enough, she has created and is currently marketing math instructional videos! When God was handing out talent, He decided that Rena should have multiple giftings. Truthfully, though, she worked very hard to accomplish all that she has. She has worked to develop the giftings she has been given. And yet, she is one of the most gracious and humble people you will ever meet. I am honored to call her my friend. She and her husband had been fantastic foster parents to some family members' children for almost 2 years while all the while trying to have a family of their own with no success and even a miscarriage and at the same time, Rena lost her mom to illness. Through it all, she always kept a cheerful disposition in public, continued to help others over herself, and never let herself get bitter.

I gave her the highly blog-recommended Miracle Blanket. It was not on her list, but it was all the buzz in blogdom and I think she and her husband will love the sleep it will give them.

Do You Have a Beach'n Baby?

One of the other gifts she was given was some cute items from Beachnbaby. The owner of this line is a friend of Rena's for several years and started this clothing line about 18 months ago and it's doing well! If you like the beach, or like surf-inspired clothing, I encourage you to check out this clothing line. The items were so cute and Rena even tried on the bib, but that picture came out too blurry to post. The best part is that Beachnbaby's goal is to start a foundation for infants and children that are abandoned! Isn't that great??

Another item that was great was a Baby Owner's Manual. For those who always said that babies don't come with a manual...now they do, complete with charts, graphs, and measurements! :)

As you can see, she is quite pregnant. The baby (a boy!) is already 5lbs, 6 oz and she still has 8 weeks to go!

We love you Rena! You're going to be a terrific mom!
