9 Years Ago Today....

...was the most devastating day my country has seen in my lifetime.

The pre-meditated, carefully-planned murder of 3000 of OUR countrymen happened.

The murders of men, women, children, Christians, Jews, Muslims, Athiests, Agnostics, gay, lesbian, black, white, Hispanic, Asian, Democrats, Republicans, Independents, Libertarians.

Citizens. My fellow countrymen.

Many of them visitors from other countries.

Children with the hope of changing the world, now gone forever.

All of them innocent human beings.

All of them not knowing that this would be their last day to live. Not knowing that they would die in a fireball. Not knowing the people they died with, but will forever be knitted together in a horrific story that will never be forgotten.

All the excuses in the world for the murderers who did this fall on deaf ears with me. Nothing justifies their actions that day...nothing. These were innocent people, not enemy combatants.

“Time is passing. Yet, for the United States of America, there will be no forgetting September the 11th. We will remember every rescuer who died in honor. We will remember every family that lives in grief. We will remember the fire and ash, the last phone calls, the funerals of the children. “ ~ President George W. Bush, November 11, 2001
